Sage Hill’s girls basketball team still has Ontario Christian’s number.
Sophomore forward Emily Eadie scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the sixth-seeded Lightning beat the host No. 2 Knights 61-56 in the Division II semifinals of the CIF State SoCal regionals on Saturday night.
Last season, Sage Hill defeated Ontario Christian 62-55 in the CIF-SS Division 3AA final.
On Saturday, the Lightning (25-10) won to advance to their first regional final. They will play at top-seeded and Division 2A champion Santiago Corona on Tuesday.
Santiago Corona defeated The Bishop’s of La Jolla 63-50 in the other semifinal Saturday.
Penn-bound point guard Isabel Gomez had 13 points, six rebounds, six assists, five steals and two blocks for Sage Hill.
Sophomore forwards Annabelle Spotts and Kat Righeimer added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Lightning. Spotts also had nine rebounds.
High-scoring guard Chloe Briggs had 23 points to lead the Ontario Christian, the Division 2A runner-up to Santiago Corona. The junior had scored 40 points in each of her past two games.
