Rams cornerback Darious Williams signed his restricted free-agent tender on Wednesday, confirming that he’ll stay with the team for 2021.

The Rams extended Williams a first-round tender at the league-prescribed $4.766 million for one year in March, giving them the right to matching any contract offer from another team or receive a first-round draft pick if they declined to match.

Williams, 28, started 10 games and had a team-high four interceptions in his third NFL season, returning one 42 yards for a touchdown in the Rams’ wild card-round playoff win at Seattle.

Keeping him in the secondary was important because the Rams lost unrestricted free-agent safety John Johnson and cornerback Troy Hill. Both signed with the Browns.
