As I mentioned last week, we were expecting news from BeachLife. Festival organizers announced that it will return to Redondo Beach in September.

Also, the Hollywood Bowl is back in business even sooner. Shows will start up there in just a few weeks.

And since Rage Against the Machine dropped their 2022 rescheduled dates and Southern California is suspiciously missing, Tom and I also recorded a special edition of the Can’t Feel the Heat podcast to talk about Coachella 2022 dates.

Speaking of Coachella, every day that Facebook Memories pops up in April, there’s all of these images of the festival. It is super weird being at home for the second consecutive April. (If you want to take a trip down memory lane, here are some of our best Coachella photos from 2019 and photos of the art pieces through the years.)

On a more personal note, three years ago this week, Festival Pass was born. I figured I was already writing recaps from Coachella and Stagecoach, and people seemed to like reading about music festivals, so why not see they wanted to get those stories delivered to their inbox?

More than 150 editions and a pandemic later, I just want to say thank you to the thousands of you who give me a space in your inbox every week. And to those of you who have written back over the years to ask a question, share a funny story or just say hello, you have no idea how much those notes brighten my day. Festival Pass readers are the best.

And since we are gearing up for everything reopening, I really appreciate all of you who have forwarded the newsletter to all of the other live music fans in your life. As I said before, Festival Pass readers are the best!

Back to the beach

The BeachLife Festival made a big splash with its 2019 debut and it was on track for an even bigger 2020, but then the pandemic happened. Now, it’s coming back to Redondo Beach.
