THE GAME: The Dodgers rallied for a 1-1 tie in the seventh (and final) inning against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Stadium.
PITCHING REPORT: Right-hander Walker Buehler made his first start of the spring and pitched two scoreless innings. Buehler allowed just one baserunner on a double by Jason Vosler in the first inning and struck out one. … Right-hander Dustin May pitched two scoreless innings, touching 100 mph on the stadium radar gun. May gave up a double and a walk in his second inning but struck out Darin Ruf and got Maricio Dubon to bounce out. … Right-hander Nick Robertson struck out two of the three batters he faced in his one inning. … Left-hander Alex Vesia gave up the only run the Dodgers allowed, in the sixth inning. Two singles, a wild pitch and an error by left fielder Andy Pages set up a sacrifice fly by Logan Wyatt.
HITTING REPORT: Mookie Betts had his first hit of the spring, a double down the left-field line. … Austin Barnes was on base twice on a single and a walk. … The Dodgers tied the score with a run in the seventh sparked by Michael Busch’s pinch-hit double. James Outman drove him in two batters later with a double to center field. … The two teams managed just four hits each.
DEFENSE REPORT: Edwin Rios showed off his improving defense at third base, diving to his left to smother a one-hop rocket off the bat of Lamont Wade Jr. in the third inning and bouncing up to throw him out at first base. … James Outman made a nice diving catch on the drive by Wyatt that drove in the Giants’ only run.
