Channel letters can often be found adorning storefronts, strip malls and commercial buildings as three-dimensional graphic signs. Created from individually cut metal elements into specific letter, number or symbol designs.

Acrylic sign faces can be customized with standard or brand-specific hues using PMS (Pantone Matching System). Aluminum sheeting forms the back of the sign with its depth determined by local signage criteria.

Customization

Channel letter signs are versatile three dimensional graphics typically employed for exterior application. Coming in various font styles and illumination options, channel letter signs can be constructed either with front lighting for increased visibility or with back-lit halos to produce an eye-catching image.

Standard channel letters consist of aluminum backs and sides (called returns ) formed into the desired letter or number and attached with an acrylic face of your choice that’s secured using a trim cap, creating a highly visible sign with a professional aesthetic that fits within any corporate brand guidelines.

Trim caps come in various colors to give your sign more versatility, while an increasingly popular trend among our customers is opting for trimless faces for an elegant and timeless appearance. Our trimless faces allow us to provide cleaner sign aesthetics while still meeting Landlord specifications and local sign ordinance requirements.

LED Illumination

Front-lit channel letters offer businesses in Dallas/Fort Worth the greatest flexibility with regards to illuminated signage. Day or night, people passing by will notice these letters shine from within their acrylic faces and draw their eye towards your business. Front lighting channel letters is by far the most popular form of illuminated signage available to businesses here and is particularly effective. You can even backlight or reverse illuminate your sign for added impact! Additionally, you could back-light it to create an eye-catching halo effect surrounding each letter of your sign!

Illuminated channel signs have grown increasingly popular over time due to their LED illumination’s energy efficiency and cost effectiveness compared to neon. You can choose from an assortment of colors and fonts for both face sign illumination as well as illumination face design to match your business personality.

Good and excellent-quality LED lamps (with CRI of 90 or higher) do not cause more damage than quartz halogens or traditional incandescent lights, and much less than daylight. The large data points with red crosses represent LED lamps with CRI of 90 or above and efficacies exceeding 50 lm/W on this graph.

Flush Mount

Channel letters are made from router-cut aluminum sheeting that can be colored using standard or custom branding-specific PMS (Pantone Matching System) hues, while their back features returns that form an enclosed channel – hence their name! Illuminated or non-illuminated versions make an impactful statement day or night and meet most local ordinances or lease agreements where illumination is permitted.

Channel letters can be installed directly onto a building through what’s known as flush or direct mount, which hides wires and power supplies out of public view. With this style of installation, studs and non-corrosive fasteners secure the sign to its permanent base. Alternatively, backer mounts feature an oversize metal cabinet which conceals power supply wiring – giving your sign an architecturally pleasing appearance.

Backer Mount

Backer panels are large flat sheets made from polycarbonate that cover the electrical components of your channel letter sign. Available in various colors to customize to your brand and storefront environment, backer panels provide an effective solution.

Raceway or wireway mounting of signs is an innovative form of mounting which attaches all letters to a narrow metal box that covers and conceals wiring and power supplies. It is widely utilized by commercial buildings because this method causes less wall damage while needing fewer holes to install the sign.

For a striking architectural effect, your sign can be mounted using a backer mount system. Similar to flush mount signage, but with larger backer panels or metal cabinets surrounding the sign itself for a sophisticated appearance.
