The Giants lost their second-string safety tandem to injury.
Giants rookie safety Dane Belton broke his collarbone intercepting a Daniel Jones pass in the end zone on Saturday. And third-string safety Jarren Williams was waived/injured with a hamstring.
Belton, 21, had his left arm in a sling on the sidelines of practice Monday. The fourth-round pick out of Iowa was even seeing some work with the first-team defense in dime packages as a third safety.
He is out indefinitely after falling hard to the ground on Saturday while picking off a pass intended for David Sills.
The Giants responded by signing safety Jarrod Wilson, 28, a seven-year veteran who played for the Jets and 49ers last season.
Yusuf Corker, 23, an undrafted rookie from Kentucky, and veteran Andrew Adams, 28, who was re-signed last Tuesday, are the next men up on the safety depth chart behind starters Xavier McKinney, 22, and Julian Love, 24.
They also have undrafted rookie Trenton Thompson, 24, out of San Diego State.

Center Jon Feliciano missed practice for a third straight day on Monday. It was the team’s first day in pads. Coach Brian Daboll seemingly is not disclosing the reason why.
Daboll said Feliciano is “working through some things” and is a “day or two” away from returning.
The Giants didn’t tackle to the ground but ran several running plays after calling mostly passes during the camp’s first week without pads on.
The first-string offense again was underwhelming when Daniel Jones dropped back to pass, outside of a couple encouraging completions to Wan’Dale Robinson and one each to Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay.
Daboll’s recent pushback against the offense’s early struggles reinforced that the Giants intend to give Jones meaningful (regular season) games to prove himself—meaning they are not in the trade market for the 49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo.
But veteran backup Tyrod Taylor continues to look solid and could be an earlier-than-expected option if Jones falters out of the gate.
