OC Fair keeps things rockin’

Concertgoers have been snapping up tickets to the big name acts and popular tribute bands playing nightly at the OC Fair in the Pacific Amphitheater and The Hangar, but with little effort and no extra cost than general admission, fairgoers can enjoy any number of shows.

And if you’ve been walking the fairgrounds all day taking in the carnival games, livestock exhibits and aisles of products, the free shows are a nice opportunity to rest your feet and cool off.

Nightly, the Meadows Stage, OC Promenade and Baja Blues feature bands and musical acts, many that would be familiar if you frequent local concerts in the park series or festivals. Throughout the day, local bands and as well as dance schools and music programs take the stage in The Hangar and at the Plaza Pacifico.

Starting at 2 p.m., Frank Thurston does several magic shows for children each day on the OC Promenade Stage and at night, Mark Yuzuik draws big crowds to the Plaza Pacifico Stage with his hypnotist act. When he’s not amusing crowds, the Tupua Polynesian Dance Group is wowing them with the Samoan flaming fire knife dance.

Hussong’s Cantina is a party every night with DJs starting at 5 p.m. and mixing until the fair’s close.

All of these shows are free with admission to the fair, just find a spot and sit back and enjoy. Find a lineup at OCFair.com, under the Things to Do tab.
