NHL draft: Ducks take teammates Noah Warren, Tristan Luneau in 2nd round

The Ducks completed a flurry of picks on Day 2 of the NHL entry draft by selecting junior-level teammates with the 42nd and 53rd overall picks Friday at Montreal’s Bell Centre, their third and fourth selections in the opening two rounds. Defensemen Noah Warren went 42nd and Tristan Luneau went 53rd.

Warren and Luneau played this past season with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Warren, listed at 6-foot-5 and 216 pounds, had five goals and 19 assists in 62 games in 2021-22. Luneau, 6-2, 188, had 12 goals and 31 assists in 63 games.

Three of the Ducks’ first four picks were defensemen. They picked defenseman Pavel Mintyukov with the 10th selection Thursday and then took center Nathan Gaucher with the 22nd pick in the opening round. The Ducks entered the draft with eight picks over seven rounds.
