Second story apartment building fire in Anaheim knocked down

Firefighters knocked down an apartment fire in Anaheim that displaced two people and a dog Wednesday evening, Anaheim Fire & Rescue officials said.

Authorities were alerted to the fire just after 7:30 p.m. at Pine Meadows Apartments on Orange Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, fire was coming out of a window on the second floor, Sgt. Shane Carringer, a spokesperson for Anaheim Fire & Rescue said. One person reported smoke inhalation, but was not transported to a hospital. There were no injuries to fire personnel.

The fire was knocked down at 8 p.m. and a fire investigator from the department was called to the scene to investigate its cause. The investigation was ongoing.

Because of the fire, Orange Avenue from Holder Street to Knott Avenue was temporarily closed.
