Police investigating after 2 robbed at gunpoint in South Coast Plaza parking lot

Costa Mesa police were searching for a pair of suspects who allegedly robbed two people of their wallets and watches at gunpoint in the parking lot of the South Coast Plaza mall on Saturday afternoon, March 27, authorities said.

Officers were called to the 3300 block of Bristol Street about 2 p.m. on a pair of robbery calls, which occurred roughly 10 minutes apart, Costa Mesa police spokeswoman Roxi Fyad said.

In each instance, two suspects brandished at least one firearm, Fyad said. They had fled in a vehicle prior to officers’ arrival.

Neither of the victims was injured and an estimated cost of the items stolen was not immediately known, Fyad said.

Further information was not immediately available.
