Dodgers create position to promote diversity and inclusion

LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers have created a new executive position to promote diversity and inclusion.

Courtney Moore has been hired as Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

“The Dodgers are part of the fabric of Los Angeles, and it’s imperative that we represent the great diversity of our city and maintain an inclusive environment for all Angelenos at Dodger Stadium,” Dodgers team president and CEO Stan Kasten said in a release announcing Moore’s hiring. “These initiatives are of the utmost importance to our organization and we are thrilled to be able to find someone with Courtney’s experience and expertise to focus, build out and lead our DEI programs. She’s been a positive agent of change across multiple industries during the course of her career, and we’re looking forward to learning from her and continuing to develop as an organization.”

Moore has a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Mount Holyoke College, a master’s degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami. Over a 20-year career, she has worked as a broadcast and special events coordinator with the Chicago White Sox and in talent acquisition for Special Counsel, Inc., and The Hollins Group. Most recently, Moore was Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the law firm Munger, Tolles and Olson.

“These are difficult and challenging times marked by a global pandemic, racial dissension and societal inequities,” Moore said of joining the Dodgers. “In this climate, I am incredibly honored to work for a pioneering organization that understands the importance of amplifying diversity and inclusion. I look forward to meeting my colleagues and getting to work!”
