Bicyclist hit while riding on freeway on-ramp in Anaheim

A bicyclist apparently trying to cross a freeway on-ramp in Anaheim was killed early Friday, Feb. 12, when struck by a car, the California Highway Patrol said.

The man, whose identity had not been released, was riding on the Lakeview Avenue on-ramp to the westbound 91 Freeway at around 4:50 a.m., said Florentino Olivera, a CHP officer and spokesman.

It appears the bicyclist was trying to cross the ramp to keep traveling on Lakeview.

As the man rode just before reaching the pedestrian crossing on the two-lane on-ramp, an Infiniti sedan drove up to enter the freeway and hit him, Olivera said.

“At that time in the morning, it’s dark and it was raining a little and the man was wearing dark clothing so it makes it hard to see in those conditions sometimes,” he said.

The driver, a 67-year-old Anaheim woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigations. Officers did not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

One Review on Bicyclist hit while riding on freeway on-ramp in Anaheim

  1. Thanks for this glorious article. One other thing is that most digital cameras can come equipped with the zoom lens that enables more or less of the scene to become included through ‘zooming’ in and out. These kinds of changes in focusing length tend to be reflected while in the viewfinder and on big display screen right on the back of the actual camera.
